Starter task: People Bingo - Common ground
Your teacher will give you the opportunity to mingle with other students to find out what you have in common. When you have found common ground with another student, fill in the details in your bingo card, this will include their name and what the two of you have in common. You must not use the same common ground more than once and try to speak to people outside of your normal friendship groups. |
Key term: Community (noun), a group of people who are in close contact and who share common interests and values
A community is a group of people who are connected in some way. Most people belong to several communities. Someone your age, living in the UK, could be a member of communities such as: the local neighborhood; the school; the country; a religious group; or a sports team.
Don't forget your lifestyle as well as where you live and your family background can all play a part in which communities you are involved with. |
