Part 1: Frequently asked questions about the controlled assessment
Q1. How long is the controlled assessment?
Everything you have been doing on the course can be used as evidence for the controlled assessment, however the final write up is three hours long. This will be divided into directed time where your teacher will give you guidance on each area of the assessment, as well as time for you to write up your answers, this is to be undertaken within strict examination conditions.
Q2. Will I have access to the internet?
When you are under examination conditions for your write up you will not have access to the internet, however you may bring along any other resources you wish such as your red folder and exercise book.
Q3. Will the marks from the controlled assessment go towards my final grade?
Yes the controlled assessment for Unit 2 is worth 30% of your overall grade.
Q4. What can I be doing outside of class to prepare for the controlled assessment?
You needs to have undertaken all classwork and homework tasks, including the independent homework tasks and the homework project. All of the can be used as evidence of your activities and help you when conducting the final write up.
You may also wish look look over the controlled assessment questions and conduct some additional tasks to support the project. Your class teacher can guide you in these areas.
Q5. What questions will come up in the controlled assessment and how do I go about answering them?
There is a button below that will open a copy of the controlled assessment. You should familiarize yourself with what is being asked. You may make notes to take in but you are not allowed pre-written answers to the questions.

Part 2: Linking your work to your answers
Using an appendix - an appendix is a way to attach evidence to your report. If you are discussing a a particular point and you have evidence of where this information came from . Firstly, label the evidence (e.g. Appendix 1) and attached it to the back of your work. Secondly once you have finished discussing the point in your answer just refer to the appendix by putting it in brackets at the end of the paragraph or sentence.

Follow your teachers directions to review each question, considering what information you would include in your answer and linking the relevant evidence as an appendix
Plenary - review what you have have already done and make a homework list of tasks you still need to complete before you undertake the controlled assessment.
