Lesson 6: Opinions |
|
We all have our own identity, this means we all hold different opinions about different matters. Do you always agree with your friends and family?
Individual task: List three times when you have not agreed with a friend or family member. What was it over? E.g. My mum wont let me stay up to watch my favorite program. |
If we take the time to think about why we disagree we can often see why the other person has a different point of view.
Individual task: For each of the three occasions you have listed when you disagreed with a friend or family member, reflect for a moment then write down why you think they held this different point of view. E.g. Well my favorite program is on a Wednesday and doesn't finish until 11pm, I expect my Mum is just worried that if I stay up to watch it I will be tired in school on a Thursday. |
Inventors of the worlds first successful airplane, the Wright brothers, frequently disagreed when designing their prototypes. To find a resolution the brothers would often played 'devils advocate' and argued the others point of view, there by giving each a better understanding of the other brothers opinion.
