Lesson 9 - A responsible party |
|
Lesson objectives:
> I have discussed the actions my party has taken as part of our campaign > I have contributed to my parties first presentation about our campaign > I have listen to the presentations of other parties and taken part in a subsequent discussion about the actions taken and views expressed |
By now hopefully you have completed the 'action' part of your campaign. But with all political parties the job doesn't end with just taking action you must also address the public explaining what you have done and why as well as what plans you have for the future. Remember you want to win people over so they believe in your party enough to vote to give you more power. |
Task 1 - Group task, reflecting on actions
As a party, complete the attached document reflecting on your actions, thoughts and where your campaign could go in the future.
|
Task 2 - Group task, presentation and feedback
As we have studies previously, it is important to communicate you message to your target audience. Today you will get your first opportunity to address an audience of your peers as a political party.
You have 12 minutes to prepare a brief presentation, no more than three minutes long, explaining that actions your party has taken. The Party reflection sheet will help cover all areas that need to be addressed. Each group will then have two further minutes to field questions from the audience. |
Tips for presenting
> Ensure your strongest speaker does the majority of the talking > Explain not only what actions you have taken, but why you have taken them > Thank the audience at the end of your presentation and invite questions |
Tips for audience
> Be respectful and listen to what the other parties have to say > Consider any points raised and how your opinions compare to the opinions being presented > Any questions you have, please address to the party at the end of their presentation |
