Developing your skills: Spreading the message
What campaigning for an important issue it is important to spread the message of what you are doing. However before delivering your message through the media, there are several things you need to consider.

> Consider what you want to find out
> Make the questions clear > Make sure the questions are quick to answer (i.e. used closed questions where you can) > Consider the order of the questions > Avoid obvious questions (e.g. would you be cruel to an animal?) > Make sure you do not offend (e.g. never ask a person their age, ask what age bracket they are in) |

1. The first task during your group time today is to complete Resource 2 in your blue folders based of the activities you are in the process of undertaking as a group. The exemplar to the right may help. 2. You need to review your progress and set each member of the group a homework task. Tips > It may be a good idea to see who has the best questionnaire and use that to take a survey of people, writing up the results into charts and graphs. > Use what you have learned today about spreading your message. Would it be a good idea to let other people know what you are doing? |

So who is the best speaker in the class? The best public speakers can turn anything into a speech. Who is so convincing they are able to turn the nursery rhyme opposite into a speech? Can anyone else do it with lyrics from a song? |
