Lesson 8: Talking to people in positions of power or influence |
|
|
This video is one persons suggestion of some of the most influential and therefore powerful people in history. While watching the video, consider how you would speak to these people if you were ever to meet them. |
Individual task
One you have completed your class work about who holds power and influence over your project, you need to write up resource 4. Remember this is an important piece of evidence so keep it neat and file it in your red folder when completed. If you lose your copy or make a mistake, please ask your teacher to print you out another one, it is on P.160 of the teachers text book. |
Group task
> You need to interview a person in a position of power and influence for your project. Which one of the people you have identified in Resource 4 would be the most suitable? Consider the practicalities of inviting them to one of your lessons. > Once you have made your decision as a group, use the Resource 5 sheet to help you decide how you will contact them. This sheet may also help with your HW5. > As a group you need to decide how you will make contact with this person to invite them for interview at a later lesson. Your teacher is allowed to help facilitate the contact. As you will need to have evidence of this communication for your files, please run all contact by the subject leader prior to your next lesson. |
For example... you may wish to send a class letter to your head teacher inviting him to attend a question and answer session in a later lesson. If the class drafts the letter together, then it can be sent by your teacher and a copy saved in each students red folder
